About Us
Meet my Sophie. Nine years ago, we rescued each other, she from a Puppy Mill and me from an executive level position in corporate America. Though I enjoyed my work, I didn't realize that I had missed my calling in life. Then I met Sophie and realized my passion. I quietly was determined that, when my corporate career was over, I was going to do something with dogs and cats. I returned home to Toronto, after spending the better part of the last 20 years living in the U.S., primarily in Scottsdale, AZ and Southern California, and purchased a Dog/Cat Grooming business, added Doggie Daycare and Training and operated it for about a year. Though I enjoyed the opportunity to better understand dog behaviour and motivation and I loved talking to dog and cat owners, I realized that this was not the right fit. I sold the business and started Humber Bay Shores Dog Walking and Cat Care in 2016.
The most joyful part of any pup's day is the opportunity to be outside, rain or shine, socializing with their own, meeting new people, exploring all the sights, sounds and smells of our wonderful community and just being a dog. Each walk, whether solo or in a group, is about enhancing their well being, at their own pace and with their own preferences. Packages for Group Walks are no more than three dogs, all with similar temperaments, ages and walking preferences. If a dog wants to get down to business and run/fast walk or just meander and explore or play in the park, we oblige.
My Sophie has enriched my life, opened new horizons for me and made me appreciate that the unconditional love and loyalty that a beloved dog or cat gives is unique and to be treasured. Our business is a passionate labour of love.
If you're very lucky, a dog or cat will come into your life, steal your heart and change everything.
